This is that first painting I'd done when I got back to painting. Some church members saw a painting of the Hilda church I'd done a long time ago stored away in my barn. They wanted to auction it off to help pay for the new fellowship hall. Honestly, the painting wasn't good. I told them that I'd try painting a new one, and if it turned out half-way decent, they could have it. I guess this is what half-way decent looks like. Anyway, I'm grateful for the opportunity, because it got me back into painting after a long hiatus.
I had the honor of presenting this painting of Perkins Chapel to Bishop Cynthia Fiero-Harvey after cheering on the runners (especially my daughter) in the Houston Marathon.

When I was in my final semester of seminary at Asbury, I painted the chapel. I was at that odd age where I was just a little too old to qualify for most of the scholarships offered. I gifted the painting to the seminary, and as a result, I was awarded a scholarship that took care of my final semester. The last time I saw this painting it was hanging in the President's office.
Here is a time lapse of an oil painting I recently finished.
