There is a place along the creek where the water slows and spreads thin across ancient granite. The rock is worn smooth in places, carved and cupped in others, shaped by a patient current that has been passing over it longer than any of us have been alive.

Standing there, I am always struck by how much time is visible. Like Jerry Jeff Walker sings, “every drop of water shapes a stone.”

The granite feels almost altar-like — not because anyone built it that way, but because it has been shaped slowly, faithfully, over centuries. The water does not force its will. It returns again and again. What seems soft and yielding is, in the end, transformative.

Sacred Ground is not always dramatic. It is not always found in cathedrals or sanctuaries. Sometimes it is found where water moves steadily over rock, where sky reflects in shallow pools, where nothing is hurried and nothing is wasted.

In these quiet places, I am reminded that grace often works the same way. Patient. Persistent. Shaping us over time.

This creek has been carving its way through stone long before I ever stood beside it. It will likely continue long after I am gone. And yet, for a moment, I get to witness it.

Once all 100 prints are sold in each edition, the edition will be retired, making each print a collectible keepsake.
